The 2021 Dorsheim Riesling "Eierfels" shows a pure, intense, concentrated and beautifully aromatic but spicy nose with notes of crushed slate and quartzite stones. On the palate, this is a vibrantly pure, fresh and saline, tight and tensioned, nicely stony and grippy dry Riesling with a long, intense and aromatic finish. 12% stated alcohol. Screw-cap closure. Tasted at the domaine in August 2022.

The 2018 Riesling Eierfels is deep, intense and flinty on the ripe and lemon-scented nose. Intense and lush on the palate, this is a medium to full-bodied, well-structured and concentrated dry Riesling whose grapes are sourced in the Burgberg and Goldloch. Elegant and yeasty, this has a refined and elegant texture with lingering crystallinity, power and mineral tension. Tasted as a sample in July 2019.

From the Burgberg and Goldloch vineyard, the 2017 Riesling Eierfels is intense and pretty complex on the pure and flinty, very delicate and subtle nose. Lush and round on the intense palate, this is a medium-bodied and generous dry Riesling that reveals remarkable purity and mineral character. Vinified in large oak (Stück) vats and bottled like the GGs in August 2018. A serious "super second" of the GGs. Tasted in July 2019.

From old vines in the Burgberg and Goldloch, the 2016 Nahe Riesling Trocken "Eierfels" is intense, flinty, very pure, fresh and bright, with intense fruit and also citric flavors. On the palate, this is a lush, vivid, fruity, very elegant and persistent Riesling. Tasted December 2017.

The 2015 Dorsheim Riesling Trocken Eierfels is the negative selection of the Dorsheim grands crus Burgberg and Goldloch. It comes along as a pretty rich and intensely flavored Riesling with spicy/stony notes and ripe fruit aromas. Full-bodied and complex, this is a piquant and salty Riesling with impressive intensity and length. It is pretty accessible already.
