It’s difficult to understand why Pinot Blanc has not become more of a cult wine in Oregon. Producers such as Ponzi make it in a style that is bright, bursting with citrus and apple fruit flavors, and elevated with a rose garden’s worth of floral highlights. The 2008 Pinot Blanc was sourced from a 12-year-old estate vineyard and was partially raised in neutral oak. It shows a bit more mineral and earth notes as well as apple blossom and pear.
