The 2012 Nebbiolo d'Alba is another simple and direct wine from Poderi Colla. It has a thin and easygoing mouthfeel.

The 2010 Nebbiolo d’Alba is big, big, big. Sweet red cherries, flowers, mint and dried herbs explode from the glass in this decidedly large-scaled, structured Nebbiolo d’Alba. This is far from an easygoing Nebbiolo, rather it is a serious wine that overdelivers for its modest price tag. Another year or so of bottle age will only do the 2010 good. The 2009 Nebbiolo d’Alba is a surprisingly large-scaled wine in this vintage. Sweet red berries, flowers and spices burst from the glass in this exciting, racy Nebbiolo. There is plenty of varietal character in the glass, but everything is simply dialed up to a higher level than has often been the case in the past. A generous, sweeping finish rounds things out in style. Anticipated maturity: 2011-2017.
