The 2010 Riesling was sourced from the excellent Hyland Vineyard. It was fermented and raised in stainless steel and finished dry. The aromatics reveal lots of spicy minerals, floral notes, and citrus. This leads to a crisp, savory, refreshing palate that awakens the senses. It is likely to evolve and drink well for up to a decade. Veteran vigneron Lynn Penner-Ash had just celebrated a milestone birthday prior to my visit and, like her wines, she appeared to be evolving gracefully. The 2009 Riesling was sourced from the Hyland Vineyard. It exhibits a fragrant perfume of mineral, spring flowers, citrus, and a hint of tropical fruits. Dry and savory in a Trocken style, it has plenty of mid-palate fruit, excellent balance, and a lengthy finish. Lynn Penner-Ash took full advantage of the outstanding Pinot Noir fruit provided by the 2008 vintage.www.pennerash.com

Outstanding, with a honeyed note that suggests a hint of botrytis. A lovely blending of complex fruits, perfectly set against the acids and residual sugar just over one percent. This resonates beautifully. ——P.G.(10/1/2011)—— 92

A tongue-scraping, bone-dry style reminiscent of an Australian Riesling, this aromatic, juicy and lightly effervescent wine tastes of citrus fruits and skins, along with hints of grapefruit and cucumber. There’s plenty of acidity to cut through rich sauces. ——P.G.(10/1/2010)—— 88
