The 2020 Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Les Chaumes unwinds in the glass with aromas of sweet cherries, cassis and rose petals, framed by a discreet patina of creamy new oak. Medium to full-bodied, velvety and vibrant, with lively acids, powdery tannins and a saline finish, it is very promising.

Aromas of cherries, dark chocolate, sweet soil tones and potpourri preface Méo's 2019 Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Les Chaumes, a medium to full-bodied, layered and elegantly muscular wine with a generous core of fruit framed by rich and powdery tannins. This is quite a virile, powerful Chaumes this year, and it will reward bottle age.

The 2018 Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Les Chaumes wafts from the glass with an inviting bouquet of orange rind, peonies, red berries and ripe cherries. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, with an enveloping attack and a generous core of ripe, sweet fruit that's balanced by some fine, chalky tannins and lively acids. This is a youthfully head-turning bottle of Les Chaumes in the making.

The 2017 Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Les Chaumes offers up appealing aromas of red cherries, cocoa nib, Asian spices and rose petal, followed by a medium to full-bodied, ample and layered palate with a tangy core of fruit, fine tannins that are a little emphasized by the wine's recent racking, and a long, vibrant finish. It displays excellent energy for the site and should develop well in bottle.
