The 2018 Chardonnay Zio Tony Ranch's graphite and roasted almond aromas give way to delicate jasmine perfume and honey-laced white peaches. The palate is wonderfully satiny, expansive, seamless and pure, with a perfect blend of fruit and savory elements and a very long, nuanced finish. The 2017 Chardonnay Zio Tony Ranch opens with a touch of gunflint over peachy fruit with accents of honeysuckle, hay and honeyed almonds. Medium-bodied, the palate offers bright fruits with light savory accents, a tangy acidic frame and long, uplifted finish.

Youthfully shy, the 2016 Chardonnay Zio Tony Ranch has slatey aromas to begin, with notes of cheese rind, pastry crust, tart green apple and spring blossoms. Medium-bodied and creamy textured, the palate is giving much more, with savory flavor layers and concentrated fruit, finishing long on an uplifted minerally note. 361 cases produced.

The 2015 Chardonnay Zio Tony Ranch features a fairly oaky nose to begin, with toast and cashew notes giving way to expressive pink grapefruit, green mango and guava scents plus a waft of mandarin peel. Full-bodied, rich and seductive in the mouth, it fills the palate with savory and tropical fruit layers that are supported by a zippy line of acid and finishes with a lingering nuttiness. 300 cases produced.

The 2014 Chardonnay Zio Tony Ranch charges from the glass with exotic fruits, candied peel and peach preserve notes, plus underlying allspice, ginger and brioche hints. Full-bodied with concentrated stone fruit and spice layers, it has a lovely oiliness to the texture and great freshness, finishing long and harmonious.
