Coming all from Stolpman’s Vineyard near the top of Ballard Canyon, the 2013 Roussanne Stolpman Vineyard spent 6 months in 70% neutral barrels and 30% stainless steel prior to bottling. Exhibiting pretty notes of pear, honey blossom, white flowers and lemon curd, it’s medium-bodied, fresh, lively and pure, with a delicious, easy-drinking style. I love the overall purity here, and while I don’t think it will make old bones, it should drink nicely for 2-3 years.

Starting off the whites, the 2012 Roussanne, which was aged in 72% neutral French oak, offers up a pretty, fresh and focused profile with notions of mineral, citrus rind and white peach to go with a medium-bodied, lively mouthfeel. Made in a lighter style that emphasizes freshness and purity, it-s an elegant white to drink over the coming 2-3 years. Drink now-2016.
