The 2020 Chardonnay Sweetwater Vineyard is powerful and hedonistic. Scented of Meyer lemon, meringue, toasted almonds and chamomile, it takes some time to unfold its finer nuances as it spends time in the glass. The palate surprises with its satiny texture and ripe, concentrated citrus fruits. It's energized by tangy acidity and has a long, textural finish. It's a powerful Chardonnay with youthful, hedonistic appeal and food-friendly textural grip.

The 2019 Chardonnay Sweetwater Vineyard has pretty aromas of white flowers and white peaches, salted almonds and quince, with touches of graphite and smoke in the undercurrent. The medium-bodied palate is expansive and seamless, opening slowly to layers of savory flavor in a satiny frame, and it finishes with tremendous length. This ultra-classy wine will age very well in the cellar.

From the highest Wente clone vines on the property, the 2018 Chardonnay Sweetwater Vineyard has delicate aromas of citrus blossoms, hazelnuts and pastry with gentle white peach and stony notes. Medium-bodied, it’s silky and expansive in the mouth, fleshing out to honeyed character and zeroing back for a long, lively, mineral-driven finish.

The nose of the 2017 Chardonnay Sweetwater Vineyard is gunflinty and toasty to begin, then gives up wafts of pure Bosc pears, Fuji apples, wet hay and floral notes. Medium-bodied, it explodes from its mineral shell into intense savory layers with juicy acidity and a very long, energetic finish.

The 2016 Chardonnay Sweetwater vineyard sings of fresh ginger, baking bread, popcorn and toasted almonds over warm apricots, Bosc pears and musk melon scents. Full-bodied, richly fruit and with an opulent oiliness to the texture, it delivers great freshness along with loads of savory layers, finishing very long.
