The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Mount Veeder blends fruit from the leased Beller Vineyard with another source to yield a floral but dark-fruited Cab loaded with cassis and plum, accented by cedar and vanilla. Full-bodied and supple, it finishes long and velvety, with hints of dark chocolate and a bit of alcoholic warmth.

The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Mount Veeder is a barrel sample blended of 85% Cabernet Sauvignon and 15% Cabernet Franc. Opaque purple-black colored, it is a little broody to begin with black earth, tar and truffles scents giving way to a core of baked black currants, black cherry compote and blackberry preserves plus hints of cigars, sautéed herbs and iron ore. Full-bodied, firm and grainy, the palate is packed with earth-laced black fruits, finishing long and mineral laced.

Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Mount Veeder comes bounding out of the glass with gregarious notes of baked plums, blueberry preserves and blackcurrant cordial plus hints of mocha, tapenade, cinnamon stick and gingerbread. Full-bodied, concentrated and oh-so-spicy in the mouth, it has a firm texture of grainy tannins and background freshness, finishing on a lingering cinnamon toast note.

Very deep purple-black in color, the 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Mt. Veeder hits the ground running with energetic notions of freshly crushed black cherries, blackberries and cassis plus touches of cigar box, lilacs, mocha, fragrant soil and sassafras plus a waft of bay leaves. Full-bodied, concentrated and boldly fruited, it has a very firm frame of ripe, grainy tannins and seamless freshness, finishing very long.

From their artisan collection of wines, the 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Mt. Veeder has the blueberry and black raspberry fruit of this AVA, a floral note as well, sweet tannin, and broad, savory, medium to full-bodied flavors and a long finish. Another strong effort. Drink 2018-2035.
