The 2014 Chardonnay is enhanced with a tiny 2% Verdeca for an extra-crisp, streamlined personality. Chablis-like in style and spirt, the wine offers an easy drinking experience with great balance and pretty layers of citrus, melon and white flower. Of Ognissole's 100 hectares of vines, only two are planted to Chardonnay. The wine only sees contact with stainless steel.

The 2013 Chardonnay is an IGT white wine that sees the French grape blended with a very small percentage of Verdeca. The latter grape adds a vibrant sense of freshness and tangy greenness that tastes absolutely beautiful next to the soft, exotic fruit character of Chardonnay. Drying mineral nuances make for a very clean and polished mouthfeel. This is a terrific, easy-drinking white wine that would pair with fried or grilled seafood.

The 2001 Ognissole Chardonnay is a well-crafted example of a southern Italian version of the grape, lightly and carefully oaked, ripe and broad on the nose and palate with peach and nectarine aromas and flavors and sufficient acidity to knit things together.
