The 2021 Chardonnay Chloe is scented of white peach, jasmine, meringue and toasted almonds with flinty streaks. The light-bodied palate has a gently grippy texture and refreshing acidity to balance its concentrated core of spicy stone fruit, and it has a long finish full of ripe fruit.

The 2020 Chardonnay Chloe, from the El Diablo Vineyard and Lorenzo Vineyard, offers an incredible combination of concentrated flavors and energetic acidity. It has intense aromas of apricot and quince with nuances of elderflower, brioche, cashews and honey, pleasing, flinty reduction and classy new oak spices. The full-bodied palate explodes with layers of ripe fruits supported by a satiny texture and focused acidity, and it has a dynamic finish that segues from stone fruits to flowers and spicy accents. Wow! About 1,000 cases were made.

The 2018 Chardonnay Chloe was the last vintage with fruit from the Ritchie Vineyard. "The old vines were no longer economic," said Dumol winemaker Andy Smith, "so there's a replanting scheme going on." Now simply labeled "Chloe," the 2019 Chardonnay Chloe is bold and lush, with gregarious aromas of peach cobbler, jasmine and pastry with wafts of flint and baking spice. The full-bodied palate is satiny and expansive, with intense, ripe fruits and a very long, spicy finish. It deserves another 2-3 years in bottle.

Coming from the Ritchie vineyard in Russian River Valley, the 2016 Chardonnay Chloe opens with tropical scents of pineapple and guava plus hints of honeydew melon, allspice and acacia honey. Medium to full-bodied, the palate is packed with bold exotic fruit flavors packaged in a seductively oily texture, delivering just enough freshness and a long spicy finish.

The 2015 Chardonnay Chloe comes from old vines (planted in 1972 and 1974) in the Ritchie and Lorenzo vineyards. It leaps from the glass with magnificent lemon curd, grapefruit and orange blossoms with hints of lightly browned toast, beeswax and lime leaves. Full-bodied, rich and seductive in the mouth, it has a beautiful oiliness to the texture and is laden with citrus layers, finishing long and mineral laced.
