The 2008 Pinot Noir The Black and the Red sports a captivating nose of sandalwood, exotic spices, violets, black cherry, and blueberry. This is followed by a dense, ripe, loaded, suave offering with layered fruit, exceptional concentration for the vintage and 2-3 years of aging potential. The 2006 Pinot Noir The Black and the Red is a blend of Bella Vida fruit from the Dundee Hills AVA (“the red”) and the biodynamically farmed Momtazi Vineyard from the McMinnville AVA (“the black”). Medium dark ruby-colored, it offers up a smoky, toasty, red fruit accented perfume. On the palate the wine is savory, ripe, plush, and concentrated with complex flavors and a lengthy, pure finish.
