The 2006 Brancellao, indigenous to Galicia and the first I have tasted, is medium crimson-colored with a slightly brooding bouquet of mineral, rose petals, incense, black cherry, and black raspberry. This is followed by a medium-bodied, plush, ripe yet elegant offering that has an extra dimension of flavor. This unique effort is pleasing to both the intellect and the senses.
