The 2020 Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru is very promising, unfurling in the glass with aromas of wild berries, cherries, orange rind, potpourri and loamy soil. Full-bodied, velvety and concentrated, it's seamless and complete, with superb depth at the core and a long, resonant finish. It will be fascinating to compare with the 2019 rendition in two decades' time.

Méo's 2019 Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru is shaping up brilliantly, mingling notes of orange peel, cassis and plums with notions of rose petals, sweet soil tones and exotic spices. Full-bodied, deep and layered, it's velvety and concentrated, with real mid-palate amplitude and an elegantly muscular profile. Perfumed and penetrating, this cuvée—from an optimally situated parcel below the chateau—is a fine long-haul proposition.

The 2018 Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru is also showing very well, exhibiting aromas of sweet wild berries, dried flowers, woodsmoke, blood orange and rich soil tones. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, concentrated and muscular, with an ample chassis of fine tannins, good tension at the core and a long, youthfully chewy finish.

The 2017 Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru unfurls in the glass with an attractive bouquet of raspberries, red cherries, incense, dark chocolate and cedary new oak. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, ample and pure with a comparatively open-knit profile for Méo's Clos Vougeot, though there is plenty of fine-grained structuring tannin held in reserve, concluding with a nicely focused but youthfully firm finish.
