Aged 24 months in a combination of French and American oak, it's brooding with notes of baking spices, dark fruit, coffee and chocolate. There's a pleasing sense of balance save for some grittiness to the tannins that distracts.

Aged for two-plus years in mixed oak barrels, this has not yet proved it can handle all of that wood. Tannic and aggressively oaky, it carries little fruit and varietal character. — (8/1/2012) —84

This Tempranillo is amazingly like a Pinot Noir, with a similar mix of cola, dusty cocoa and sour cherry fruit. Perhaps a bit softer than most Pinots, and absent the vegetal and tomato leaf character that often strikes Oregon wines at this price point; this is a very tasty bottle with a lovely, ripe, round and lightly smoky finish.——P.G.(10/1/2009)—— 88
