The red 2020 Salanques was produced with 65% Garnacha, 25% Cari?ena and 10% Syrah. It showed generous oak (it spent 12 to 14 months in barrel) and plenty of tannins on the palate, and despite having less alcohol than the 2019 I tasted next to it, it felt riper. 2020 was a challenging year of rain, heat and fungus, and tasted next to the 2021, the 2021 showed better balance. It's ripe at 14.5% alcohol. 10,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in April 2022.

The 2019 Salanques is powerful, seamless and quite complete, from a year of good ripeness and powerful wines but with balance. This has a lot of everything, starting with 15% alcohol (as stated on the label), black fruit, graphite, power and Priorat character. It's the same blend of 65% Garnacha, 25% Cari?ena and 10% Syrah, with a pH of 3.28 and integrated oak after fermenting part of the volume in a large oak vat in their new winery. 16,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in May 2021.

I find the 2018 Salanques to be unusually oaky, with plenty of spices and smoke on the nose and grainy tannins on the palate. It's an old-vine blend of 65% Garnacha, 25% Cari?ena and 10% (younger) Syrah that fermented in stainless steel with neutral yeasts and matured in 50/50 new and second use French oak barrels for 14 months. 18,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in June 2020.

I tasted two vintages of the Salanques, and the 2017 Salanques feels riper and darker than the 2016, with notes of graphite and earth. It was one of the earliest harvests ever, but the old vines (this comes from plants averaging no less than 70 years of age) still managed to deliver a balanced crop. It's powerful but has very fine tannins, a velvety texture and a very pleasant mouthfeel. 18,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in April 2019.
