Aged 17 months in 20% new oak, the pale to medium ruby colored 2017 Pinot Noir Jensen Vineyard is scented of cranberries, Earl Grey tea, dried flowers, dust, crushed stone, dried thyme and blackberries with hints of mushrooms, tree bark and cured meats. The palate is light to medium-bodied and intense with very pretty layers, a gently grainy frame and a long, juicy, nuanced finish. 1,210 cases produced.

The 2016 Pinot Noir Jensen Vineyard, aged 17 months in 30% new French oak, has a pale to medium ruby color and is slow to unfurl on the nose, with tangerine, dried cranberries, wild blackberries, dried thyme, underbrush and hints of peppered meats coming through over time. Medium-bodied and silky, it unfurls in the mouth to amaro character, firmly framed and finishing long and fresh. 1,000 cases produced.

From an accountant crushing yield of 1.12 tons per acre, the 2013 Pinot Noir Jensen Vineyard was aged 17 months in 30% new French oak. It offers a beautiful array of sappy flowers, forest floor and darker raspberry and cherry fruits to go with a medium to full-bodied, seamless, silky style on the palate that continues to flesh out and gain richness with time in the glass. Like all of Josh's wines, it's impeccably balanced and has first rate purity of fruit, ripe tannin structure and a great finish. It certainly offers incredible pleasure today, yet will be even better with short term cellaring and will have 15 years of overall longevity.

A thrilling Pinot Noir that comes from a 13.8-acre vineyard planted in 1975 on mostly on limestone, at an elevation of 2,200 feet, the 2012 Pinot Noir Jensen Vineyard was harvested September 24 to October 21 and was aged 16 months in 30% new French oak. It offers a dark ruby color to go with a big, sweet nose of cranberry, wild strawberries, crushed flowers, forest floor and spice. Full-bodied, layered and elegant, with a supple, rounded and sexy texture, it packs plenty of fruit, yet is graceful, beautifully balanced and seamless. It's hard to resist now, yet should cruise for a decade in the cellar.

Beautifully complex, Jenson’s 2011 Pinot Noir Jenson Vineyard offers a lively, fresh feel in its sweet cherry, strawberry, sappy spring flowers and subtle mint-driven bouquet. Medium-bodied, layered and seamless, it’s an elegant and silky example of this cuvee to drink over the coming decade or more. These latest releases from Calera are rock-solid across the board, and looking at the 2011 Pinot Noirs specifically, they show the best of the cooler vintage and are gorgeous wines. Starting with the two Chardonnays, these are both outstanding whites that represent serious value.
