The 2020 Tempranillo has a medium ruby-purple color and a lovely blend of floral fruits and savory undertones, featuring touches of violet, peppercorn and grilled meats. The full-bodied palate has a gentle rusticity to its texture that is balanced by generous, juicy fruits, and it has a long, spicy finish.

The 2019 Tempranillo has a deep ruby-purple color and classic red and black cherry fruit with broody tones of coffee, violet, graphite and earth. The medium-bodied palate is finely balanced between fresh fruit and earthy notes, with a chalky frame and savory finish. This will benefit from another 2-3 years in bottle.

The deep ruby-purple colored 2017 Tempranillo, aged in 70% new French oak, is scented of sour cherries, old leather, grilled meats, woodsmoke, tar and loamy earth with a bacon fat note and touches of violet, bramble and mint. The palate is full-bodied and explodes with savory flavor layers, firmly framed and with just enough freshness, finishing long. 570 cases produced.

Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2015 Tempranillo bursts forth with vibrant red and black raspberry notes and underlying sautéed herbs, underbrush, tobacco leaf and stewed tea nuances, plus a hint of rare beef drippings. Medium to full-bodied and solidly structured with firm, chewy tannins, it has a muscular palate of earthy/savory layers and great length.

Possibly one of the greatest expressions of this variety yet from the US, the inky colored 2014 Tempranillo offers classic notes of smoked black plums, cedary spice, charred meats and chalky minerality, with more and more floral notes emerging with time in the glass. Big, full-bodied and tannic, forget it for 4-5 years and enjoy over the following decade or more.
