The 2008 Isola dei Nuraghi Angialis is a late-harvest sweet dessert wine made from Nasco and Malvasia. Hazelnuts, white truffles, creme brulee, French oak, cinnamon, burnt sugar and dried figs all come together in this fairly rich, textured wine. With residual sugar of 158 grams per liter, the Angialis is unctuous, generous and expansive in style. Anticipated maturity: 2013-2018.
Argiolas does so many things well; it’s hard to know where to start. Readers will find a bevy of absolutely delicious, value-priced wines in this lineup.
