Medium ruby-purple, the 2018 Syrah Tous les Jours opens with dense tar and turned earth aromas before unfurling to black currants, licorice and menthol. The full-bodied palate has dense, herbal fruits, soft acidity and a simple finish.

Medium to deep ruby-purple, the 2017 Syrah Tous les Jours opens with notes of tar and smoke, giving way to peppered meat, black olive and dense black and blue fruits with floral notions. Medium to full-bodied, it fills the mouth with dark fruits firmly framed by ripe tannins and lifted by juicy acidity, finishing long.

The 2016 Syrah Tous les Jours sports a medium to deep garnet-purple color and leaps from the glass with vibrant raspberry coulis, black cherry and red currant notes with touches of baking spices and roses. The medium to full-bodied palate fills the mouth with spices and red and black fruits, framed by plush, rounded tannins and finishing on a peppery note. This is so different from the previous vintage of this wine and nicely done too!

The 2015 Syrah Tous les Jours has a medium to deep garnet-purple color and slightly reduced/rubbery nose to begin, giving way to notes of black and red cherries, black plums and mulberries, plus touches of tar and licorice. Medium to full-bodied, with a nice chewy texture and plenty of earthy black fruit in the mouth, it has a pleasantly savory, if relatively uncomplicated, character.

The 2014 Syrah Tous les Jours is a total charmer and checks in as 100% Syrah from a bevy of Santa Ynez vineyards (all are within five miles of the winery). Notes of barbecue smoke, plums, licorice and pepper give way to a medium-bodied, juicy, lively, lightly textured beauty that has considerable charm and elegance. Buy a case and drink it over the coming couple of years.
