Here is another beautiful wine from biodynamic producer Alois Lageder. The 2014 Alto Adige Pinot Grigio Porer Tenutae Lageder takes the grape to a beautiful place. There is an extra dose of integrity and intensity here that, frankly, I did not expect from this notoriously difficult vintage. Soft flavors of lemon mousse, peach and pear add good length to the finish.

The 2012 Alto Adige Pinot Grigio Porer Tenutae Lageder shows the signature winemaking style of Alois Lageder in terms of the purity and focus of its aromatic delivery. Varietal characteristics of pear, stone fruit and honeydew melon emerge freely from the glass. Subtle background shades of mountain herb and crushed limestone fill in the rear.

The 2010 Pinot Grigio Porer is an attractive, mid weight wine laced with ripe peaches, pears, flowers and light floral honey. This soft, understated Pinot Grigio impresses for its clarity and detail, both notable within the context of its peers. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2014. Alois Lageder now has two distinct ranges.
