Here is a terrific and extremely well-priced blend of 80% Vermentino and 20% Chardonnay. This wine represents a collaborative effort between Agricola Punica and Cantina Santadi. The 2016 Samas gets its name from the Punic god of the sun. Samas is indeed a bright and luminous wine that shows the unmistakable traits of warm-climate winemaking. In contact with the lees for up to 40 days, the bouquet is softly layered with peach and tropical fruit. Bright citrus and pink grapefruit make for a lively finish.

From the Isola dei Nuraghi IGT appellation, the 2013 Samas is a blend of 80% Vermentino and 20% Chardonnay. This is a great value wine (in a screw cap bottle) that delivers pretty citrus fruit aromas with lime, passion fruit and papaya. It would make a perfect pairing partner to fresh fish of the day.
