The only Longoria Pinot Noir I can recommend is the 2000 Pinot Noir Mt. Carmel Vineyard. It offers complex aromatics consisting of cranberries, cherries, minerals, smoke, and toasty oak. There is abundant fruit on the front end, but then the wine tightens to reveal an attenuated, lean finish with noticeable acidity. Nevertheless, it is significantly better and more complete than either the 1999 or 2000 Pinot Noir Bien Nacido Vineyard.Tel. (805) 688-0305

Rich, ripe cherry-strawberry fruit is accented by leather and chocolate in this spicy, complex wine. Molasses, cinnamon and anise nuances and a long, dark finish add to its appeal.
