The most opaque colored of this trio is the 2003 Cabernet Sauvignon Winston Hill. As the label suggests, this cuvee is named after a beloved Springer Spaniel. A blend of 88% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Merlot and 4% Cabernet Franc, it was aged 22 months in French oak, two-thirds new. Full-bodied with a tightly knit but classic nose of black currants, licorice, incense and spring flowers, this big, rich, youthful 2003 demands another 3-5 years of cellaring. It should keep for two decades thereafter. It is a powerful (14.5% alcohol), persuasive 2003.
