The spectacularly complex, opulently-textured, lavishly rich 1997 Pinot Noir Blue Slide Ridge displays a saturated plum/purple color in addition to gorgeous aromas of blueberries, black cherries, lavender, and smoky oak. Intense and full-bodied, with fabulous concentration, a voluptuous texture, and a long finish, this is a stunning effort. Sadly, production was minuscule - 25 cases. This wine is available through the winery's mailing list, although some preferred Napa Valley restaurants, particularly the French Laundry, and in New York (Daniel and La Bernadin), seem to receive noteworthy allocations.
