The impressive 2001 Pinot Noir Paraboll Vineyard is reminiscent of a grand cru from Domaine Dujac in Morey-St.-Denis, it exhibits a dark ruby color as well as a big, sweet nose of flowers, plums, black cherries, underbrush, and game. The exceptionally complex bouquet is followed by a light to medium-bodied Pinot with beautifully intense, sweet red and black fruits. Lean and herbal, with an Heirloom tomato edge, although there are hints of black cherry. The spareness only accentuates the acidity and tannins.
