The most impressive of all the Pinots is the 2005 Pinot Noir Wilson Vineyard, which is not far from the Sonoma Coast town of Annapolis. Planted with the Dijon clone 777, this wine smells like great Burgundy, especially from the Cote de Nuits. Black raspberries, cherries, forest floor, and spring flowers soar from the glass of this unctuously-textured, rich, full-bodied Pinot Noir that is just gorgeous. Unfortunately, there is very little of it. Drink it over the next 4-5 years. I am not surprised I like the wines of Sean Capiaux since he also makes wines for O'Shaughnessy on Howell Mountain in Napa.
