The 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon Brenda’s Vineyard is a bit more centered and poised than the 2010, but it is also much less expressive. Still, it is impossible not to admire the wine’s structure, power and sheer personality. Hints of sweet tobacco, cedar, spices and raspberry jam flow through to the floral-infused finish. The 2009 doesn’t quite have the density of the 2010, but they are both striking wines. Today my impression is that the 2009 will also mature faster than its younger sibling, but the wine’s balance is impeccable from start to finish. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2024. Tel. (707) 944-9261
