The dark ruby/plum-tinged 2003 Pinot Noir Finn displays a gorgeous bouquet of beet root, white flowers, forest floor, smoked meat, and herbs. A broad, complex, aromatic effort with big flavors, a juicy, concentrated mid-palate, and a long, heady finish, it is a stunning Pinot Noir to drink over the next 7-8 years. Kudos to DuMol, one of the brilliant shining stars of the North Coast Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Syrah sweepstakes. In the past four years, this has become one of my favorite stops on my tasting trip through California’s North Coast. One can’t say enough about owner Kerry Murphy and his talented winemaker, Scotsman Andy Smith.
