When Cosentino’s clarets hit the mark, they’re darn near as good as anything in the valley. This blend of Cabs Sauvignon and Franc and Merlot is wickedly good. There’s a ton of oak, but it’s just the perfect touch. Tastewise, it’s black currants, creme de cassis and sweet Asian spices. So soft and forward; drink now. ——S.H.(9/1/2006)—— 93
