Deep garnet in color, the 2010 Grand Barossa Shiraz is slightly reduced on the nose as it gives rubbery notes at first but eventually gives way to black plums and tar aromas underscored by hints of cloves and aniseed. Medium to full-bodied, it has a decent amount of ripe berry and spice flavors held up by a solid backbone of medium levels of chewy tannins and refreshing acid. It finishes medium to long in length. Drink it now through 2015.
