The 2007 Atemporal Blend is composed of 43% Malbec, 36% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Syrah, and 10% Petit Verdot aged for 12 months in French oak. Saturated purple in color, it exhibits a fine bouquet of cedar, spice box, black cherry, cassis, and black currant. On the palate it reveals a restrained personality, some elegance, and ample savory fruit. A bit more concentration would have led to an outstanding rating. Nevertheless, this quality effort is an excellent value. Alta Vista is owned by the d’Aulan family. Dark and juicy, with plum, boysenberry, raisin and fruitcake flavors backed by dark cocoa and enticing cigar smoke notes. The finish is long and fleshy. A fun, hedonistic wine. Sweet berry fruit, close to jammy. Plump, with some tannic structure and good concentration. A bit one-dimensional.

Quite creamy and sweet on the nose, with marshmallow and candy aromas that are not that convincing. Solid in the mouth, with herbal fruit, chocolate and plump tannins, body and extract.
