The 2008 Aljibes Petit Verdot spent 12 months in large French oak followed by 4 months in second use barriques. Exotic spices, violets, incense, espresso, and blackberry aromas inform the nose of a dense, layered, sexy, potentially complex, lengthy wine. Give it 2-3 years to become a bit more civilized and drink it from 2013 to 2023. These new releases from Bodega Los Aljibes demonstrate what can be achieved by talented vignerons working in selected regions of La Mancha.
