From the limestone soils of Paso Robles, the 2006 Zinfandel Pesenti is a beauty. The limestone seems to give Zinfandels in that area acidity, vibrancy, and aromatic personalities, but without sacrificing the intrinsic richness and intensity from low yields. This wine boasts fabulous briery, blackberry, and cherry fruit, a crushed rock note, and a long, heady finish. This is super Zinfandel that should last 7-8 years.
