The 2005 Gran Araucano Cabernet Sauvignon was aged for 18 months in 70% new French oak. The reticent bouquet reveals toasty oak, earth notes, cassis, and black cherry. On the palate it is medium to full-bodied, smooth-textured, and well-balanced. There is enough structure to support 2-3 years of additional cellaring and it should offer prime drinking from 2011 to 2020. The Hacienda Araucano label is produced by the excellent firm of J & F Lurton.Importer: Winesellers Ltd, Skokie, IL; tel. (847) 679-0121
