One of Napa's premier under-achievers may be lightening up on the acid adjustments given the performance of this 1994 Cabernet Sauvignon. Sadly, I was not able to taste any of the other Freemark Abbey offerings, including their highly regarded Bosche Vineyard Cabernet. The regular Cabernet Sauvignon is an attractive dark ruby-colored wine with an earthy, underbrush, plum, and currant-scented nose. Soft and round, with low acidity and up-front fruit, it should drink well for another 5-6 years.
