From properties owned by tennis star Thomas Muster (hence the label “TOMS”), the 2007 Weissburgunder TOMS Hochkittenberg is far more interesting than last year’s counterpart, seeming to show the inflections traceable to its schistic, stony ground in saline, wet stone, and pungent nuances that inflect its rich, apply, nutty primary fruit. With refined length, this well-knit wine succeeds in both fascinating and refreshing, and should be worth following for at least 2-3 more years.
