Still in barrel, the 2019 Syrah Reva is deep ruby-purple in color and opens with savory scents of chargrill, flint, leather and garrigue complementing a deep core of peppery blackcurrant fruit. Full-bodied and powerful, it has a chalky, fresh frame, youthfully wound fruits and generous floral nuances lingering on the finish. It's somewhat tighter and more reticent than the other 2019s and may need more time to come around once it's bottled in early 2023.
