Poured from a half-bottle, this has a surprisingly deep garnet core with a thin tawny rim. The nose still has very good intensity with ripe tarry red fruits, syrup of figs, dried honey, molasses and a touch of mint. The palate is medium-bodied with a slight viscosity on the entry, very good weight and intensity matched with good acidity. This half-bottle is packed full of flavour with crushed raspberry, allspice, honey, marmalade and tangy orange peel. Quite powerful and viscous on the finish, this is an absolute joy to behold. Remarkable. Tasted May 2011.
