The 2016 Cannonau di Sardegna Riserva is a versatile and food-friendly red to pair with grilled fennel sausage. The wine is packed tightly with bright and easy fruit tones, including wild cherry and myrtle berry. It does undergo some aging in large oak casks, and although you don't taste it per se, the wine has taken on slightly more volume and depth as a result.

Vibrant, fresh and fruity, the 2014 Cannonau di Sardegna Riserva is an extremely well-priced red to pair with Sardinian gnocchi (malloreddus) topped with sausage tomato and saffron. In truth, any other basic Italian pasta recipe will do just fine next to a wine of this wide versatility and easy appeal. The bouquet possesses a dark core of cherry and red currant.
