The 2007 Red Wine The Devil & The Deep Blue Sea shows gorgeous density and depth in its black fruits, sweet herbs, spices and graphite. There is a mysterious, inward quality to the wine’s personality that is highly attractive. The aromas and flavors come together beautifully in the glass as the minerality takes on a greater role while framing the powerful yet refined finish. The Devil & The Deep Blue Sea is 64% Syrah, 19% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Grenache and 2% Viognier that spent 32 months in French oak, mostly new. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2022. Sanguis was founded by Matthias Pippig and his wife Jamie Kinser in 2004. These artisan, small production wines are made from top vineyard sources in a style that emphasizes textural richness and depth.
