The 2007 My Sun Is Your Sun Stonewell Grenache (110 cases) is light ruby-colored and by sight could easily be mistaken for a Rose; not so on the nose and palate. Aromas of cedar, spice box, leather, mineral, and red cherry are first class. This leads to a ripe, succulent wine with considerably more grip and length than its above siblings. Enjoy it over the next 6-8 years. Chateau Chateau is a label created by importer Dan Philips and marketed under the R Wines umbrella. Its stated purpose is to demonstrate the effects of soil and place on Grenache (and blends) from the best terroirs in Barossa Valley and McLaren Vale. The Barossa Reserve wines are limited production cuvees, most of them under 150 cases. The 2006 My Sun is your Sun Grenache is expressive aromatically with aromas of damp earth, pepper, Asian spice, plum, and kirsch. Medium to full-bodied, it is more structured and backward than its siblings and will benefit from 5-7 years of cellaring. All the components are present and harmonious so it is merely a matter of time before this wine reveals its true colors. The Chateau Chateau series was created to highlight distinct sub regions and vineyards of Barossa Valley Grenache. Each wine features a label inspired by the work of M.C. Escher.
