Packaged in a Riesling bottle, the 2018 Sicilia Noto Allemanda is lightly fragrant and floral. The bouquet offers honey, passion fruit and sweet jasmine. You get authentic Moscato aromas, such as the soapy and musky aromas that characterize the grape, delivered in a dry, accessible and easy-drinking style. This is a great choice to pair next to a spicy snack during those long summer afternoons before dinnertime.

The 2017 Sicilia Noto Allemanda (packaged in a Riesling bottle) is a dry expression of the Moscato Bianco grape. This wine from Planeta is new to me, and I love it. I took my open sample to pair with the take-out Chinese food I ordered after a very long day of tasting. Despite my fatigued palate, this wine served to beautifully revive my senses. The wine is very sharp and precise with direct aromas of tart grapefruit and fragrant honeysuckle that is followed by crushed stone and granite. This is a fabulous treat, and I absolutely recommend it with pan-fried dumplings.
