Carrying 156 gms/l residual, the 2010 Noble Late Harvest Riesling has an attractive honeyed bouquet with touches of marmalade, orange essence and a hint of petrol. The palate is well balanced with a viscous entry, very good weight in the mouth with clean pure, vibrant German Beerenauslese finish that handles that sweetness with style.Neurosurgeon Dr. Paul Cluver owns the eponymous 2,500-hectare estate in Elgin, of which 90-hectares are under vine. It is a family affair. Winemaker Andreas Burger (recently elected to the prestigious Cape Winemakers Guild) is married to daughter and financial director, Inge Cluver. An attractive dessert wine at an incredibly attractive price, this is a beautifully balanced late-harvest Riesling with a refreshingly mouthwatering finish.
