Deep ruby-purple, the 2018 Syrah Chico's Hill has a nose loaded with luscious cassis, warm chocolate, coffee beans and violet top notes. The full-bodied palate is ripe and velvety without losing any nuance, and it has just enough juicy freshness to lift the long, flavorful finish. This hints at more to come with time, so allow it another 3-5 years in bottle. Only 41 cases were made.

Medium to deep ruby-purple, the 2017 Syrah Chico's Hill has fresh, delineated aromas of chocolate mint, violet, garrigue, turned earth and cassis with lots of underlying hints waiting to blossom. The medium to full-bodied palate is finely grained and seamlessly fresh, with concentrated, mint-laced fruit and a long, layered finish.

The 2016 Syrah Chico's Hill has a very deep, opaque, purple-black color and nose of blueberry liqueur, black cherry and berry jam, boysenberry, smoked meats, cracked pepper and violets with underlying savory olive notions. Intensely concentrated in the mouth with chocolaty dark fruits, it has very firm, ripe tannins and mouthwatering acidity, with a very long, layered and intense finish. Only 66 cases were made.

The inky purple-black colored 2015 Syrah Chico's Hill opens with pronounced crème de cassis, baked blackberries, tar and smoky bacon notes with wafts of black pepper, potpourri and fertile loam. The ultra full-bodied, pedal-to-the-metal palate gives loads of spicy black fruit preserves and a notably chewy texture, with balanced freshness and a very long, pepper-laced finish. Only 18 cases produced.

Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2014 Syrah Chico’s Hill offers fragrant garrigue, earth and Provence herbs notes over a core of black cherries, baked blackberries and anise, plus a touch of dark chocolate. Very full-bodied, concentrated and loaded with black berry and spice flavors, it has a firm, chewy structure and great length.
