The 2012 Semillon offers notes of chopped herbs, lime leaves and lemon zest with a hint of hay. Margan’s 2010 Semillon has a forward, expressive nose of waxed lemons, lanolin, lime leaves, tree bark and pomelo. Dry with refreshing acidity and a light to medium body, there’s more weight and better balance in youth here than is typical. The finish is long with lingering notes of grapefruit. Coming from 30 year old, estate owned vines, the 2009 Semillon gives a good intensity of lemonade and fresh lime juice aromas with a whiff of fresh cut herbs.
