The 2015 Oppenheim Herrenberg Riesling Auslese opens with a stunningly cool, fresh, limey, concentrated but restrained bouquet of candied grapefruit and fresh limes. On the palate, this is a lovely, lush, juicy, light, bright and piquant Riesling with vitalizing acidity, very delicate tannin grip and a stimulating, aromatic, salty finish. Everything is in the right place here and the arrangement is just perfect. A light and delicious Auslese ready to be enjoyed in mouth-filling sips. Bottled with 68 grams of residual sugar and 11.5% alcohol.

Unique in character, this wine features powerful white pepper and spice drop notes layered over white peach and melon flavors. It’s rather big and round in the mouth, but it also has a bit of a hole in the midpalate. Turns peppery and spicy on the finish. ——J.C.(12/1/2006)—— 87

This medium-bodied auslese has a rich, concentrated mouthfeel that perfectly suits its flavors of ripe apples, pears and melons.
