Pale to medium ruby-purple in color, the 2011 Shiraz displays lifted notes of red cherries and warm cranberries with nuances of black pepper, tree bark and a medicinal whiff. Light-bodied and framed with soft, velvety tannins, it has just enough fruit intermingling with lively acidity to finish with medium to long persistence. Drink it now through 2014. Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2009 Shiraz has pronounced notes of warm black plums, mulberries and black currants with nuances of salami, cedar, loam and black pepper. Medium-bodied, it has a good amount of peppery blackberry flavor on the palate with a medium level of rounded tannins, crisp acid and a long finish. Drink it now to 2015. Aged for 15 months in French and Hungarian hogshead (300L) and puncheon (500L) barrels, 30% new, the 2008 Logan Shiraz has a deep garnet-purple color and an expressive nose that is just beginning to evolve into dried mulberry and kirsch aromas with nuances of sandalwood and Chinese five spice. Medium-bodied with a good amount of spicy flesh, it has very crisp acid, a medium level of grainy tannins and a long finish that leaves a hint of pepper. Drink it now to 2015.
