A unique blend of 50% Petit Verdot with 25% each Cabernet Franc and Merlot, the 2019 Pickett Road Red offers up cherries and mixed berries, just a riotous medley of fruit. There's a hint of vanilla, but the wood is well hidden in this full-bodied effort, which comes across as silky in texture on the palate and finish, with just a hint of warmth.

The 2008 Pickett Road is a blend of 17% Merlot, 17% Cabernet Franc and 66% Petit Verdot. Freshly cut flowers, spices, new leather, licorice and dark cherries are some of the notes that emerge from this fleshy, beautifully balanced wine. This shows better balance and less overt ripeness/sweetness than the Merlot. It is a highly attractive wine to drink now and over the next few years. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2018. Tel. The 2006 Pickett Road Proprietary Red is composed of 43% Merlot, 43% Petit Verdot, 7% Cabernet Franc and 7% Cabernet Sauvignon. It displays the deepest purple color of this quartet (explained by the Petit Verdot component) in addition to a round, generous texture, good body, depth, complexity and richness and overall more interest than all but the Cabernet Franc. Young, intense and briary, with summer herb notes of anise framing ripe, spicy blackberries. Oak adds a rich, deft touch of sweet char. The tannins are considerable and brooding, giving this dry young wine an astringent tightness.
