The 2016 Langhe Nebbiolo Surìsjvan (with 12,600 bottles made) offers an interesting nose that is dominated by dark fruit nuances. It also shows savory touches of spice, scorched earth and campfire ash. This is a lean, crisp red wine to pair with roast chicken and potatoes marinated with garlic and rosemary. It ages in lightly toasted barrique for 15 months.

The 2015 Langhe Nebbiolo Surìsjvan shows a dark garnet color that is muted and thick. The powerful bouquet offers ripe fruit aromas with dark plum and back cherry syrup. On the Nebbiolo scale, this wine is concentrated and thicker than average.

I'm not a big fan of this Nebbiolo expression, made with organic fruit and offering dried leaf and wet rose along with grassy and sour notes. The 2014 Langhe Nebbiolo Surìsjvan seems to have suffered from the cool and soggy vintage conditions.

Made with organically-farmed fruit, the 2013 Langhe Nebbiolo Surìsjvan exhibits dark spice, mature fruit and black cherry. There's a strong note of cherry sweetness that penetrates the back of the palate. The wine rests in lightly toasted barrique for 15 months and you definitely get some oak spice on the close.
